In conjunction with the celebration, D&E President Frank Polanski also recognized employees with more than 10 years of service at the company as well as those celebrating milestone service anniversaries.

“I wanted to be sure that I emphasized the importance of our people, the employees at D&E,” Polanksi said. “There’s a lot that goes into the success of a business, but first and foremost are the people.”

The following employees were honored during Monday’s luncheon:

  • Jacob King, 11 years
  • Luke Ongley, 11 years
  • Dave Phillips, 12 years
  • Chris Moisher, 12 years
  • Ed Butcher, 12 years
  • John Taylor, 13 years
  • Kevin Reynolds, 14 years
  • Willis Proctor, 15 years
  • Blaine Powell, 20 years
  • Tony Proper, 20 years
  • Larry Owens, 24 years

“We have a remarkable group of dedicated, highly skilled people working here and I’m proud to be part of this team,” Polanski said. “Every person and the job they do, plays an important part in the success of D&E.”

D&E Machining manufactures products for the aerospace, defense, transportation, power generation, medical and material handling industries. The company is AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified, meeting industry standards that assure quality and regulation compliance.

D&E Machining President Frank Polanski recognized employees with more than 10
years of service at the company during the luncheon. Polanski, right, shakes hands
with Kevin Reynolds and thanks him for his 14 years of service.

Polanski formerly served as D&E’s vice president of sales before he took over for Matthew McGinnes, the previous president of the company.

The AS9100D is the most recent certification D&E has earned, proving its capability to provide precision-machined parts and assemblies for critical applications.

“That’s going to open up opportunities for us,” Polanksi said of the most recent certification. “A lot of these industries require you to pay attention to detail in quality and have documentation to back it up.”

As a certified AS9100 supplier of make-to-order parts and assemblies for the aerospace and defense industries — where failure is not an option — the company’s quality processes meet the highest, most demanding standards required on every part, every day, Polanski said.

D&E Machining came to Corry in 1998 after being previously located in Erie on West 33rd Street, according to Polanski, who has been the company’s president for two years.

Over the years, D&E Machining evolved from being a machining shop to being able to offer its customers a full finished product.

“We started out machining and as time went on we added an assembly line and more,” Polanski said. “We now look at ourselves as a full-service supplier.”

D&E continues to grow and is proud to be a part of the Corry community.

“Obviously we want to grow the company and continue to employ people from the Corry community,” Polanski said. “We’re really excited about the future.”

Polanski said the company’s growth strategy involves significant investment in new equipment to increase capacity, including a new Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL) that arrived last week, as well as process control improvements and continuous professional skills training for team members.
