CNC Lathe Operator (Full-Time and/or Part-Time)

CNC Lathe Operator

Job description:

D&E Machining is currently seeking a CNC Lathe Operator with 2+ years of experience for full-time and/or part-time with flexible hours available on both 1st and 2nd shift. There is a substantial shift differential for 2nd shift employees. The ideal candidate will perform the day-to-day operation of the machining of customer parts to dimensions specified on the print, will edit programs as required to produce optimal results and seek opportunities to reduce machine time and increase efficiencies, participate in team meetings, designate proper delineation of all scrap, communicate quality concerns, and perform general upkeep of the machine.

Essential Functions:
  • Setup and run equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain tooling inventory at machine.
  • Machine parts to required tolerance on machine drawing.
  • Mark material for deposition.
  • Perform quality assurance for all parts machined.
  • Effectively remove burrs/sharp edges when needed.
  • Assist with machine maintenance when directed by Supervisor.
  • Assist in training of new operators as needed.
  • Participate in ISO-9001 through continuous improvement training.
  • Material handling as required when a move person is not available.
  • Keep machine area clean and safe.
  • Fill out inspection logs, travelers, and time slips.
  • Participate in team updates.
  • Upload and download from the machine control
  • Participate in business updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Marginal Functions:
  • Assist in training of new operators as needed.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and moving of material.
Education/ Experience:

High School diploma/GED;

2+ years CNC Lathe machining experience preferred. Ability to read micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices. Experience with CMM’s is desirable. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and will occasionally be required to reach above shoulders and lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud noise. Safety glasses and safety shoes must be worn in the shop. This position requires employee to work in an indoor environment and come in direct contact with other staff and customers. The employee will be working near moving mechanical parts.

Working hours:

Full-Time 1st & 2nd Shift – 40 hours (Monday – Thursday) plus overtime when needed. Part-Time 1st & 2nd Shift – Flexible hours (Monday – Thursday).

Saw Operator/Material Handler

Saw Operator/Material Handler

Job description:

D&E Machining is seeking an experienced Saw/Material Handling Operator reporting to Manufacturing, responsible for setup and cutting of correct material needed for production, also movement and control of in-process material. Employee will need to operate forklift, crane, use calipers and other measuring devices. Must be motivated and willing to learn.

Essential Functions:

· Setup and cut correct material needed for production.

· Maintain correct material type, heat and purchase order on all tags and travelers.

· Maintain quality records.

· Keep material identified at all times.

· Keep jobs cut ahead so production is able to keep running.

· Keep pole building organized.

· Receive material as required and maintain identity of material.

· Keep work area, machines and facilities clean and safe.

· Participate in machinist training as required.

· Responsible for cleaning up metal chips in parking lot after big chip hopper is changed.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma/GED, 1+ years related experience, excellent attention to detail, good mathematical skills, good interpersonal skills, and work well in a team environment. Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Job description:

Quality Assurance Inspector

D&E is recruiting for a Quality Assurance Inspector in Corry, PA.

The inspector performs and audits work activities of processing production workers to verify conformance of activities to quality control standards.

Essential Functions:

· Performs inspections for the company products to determine conformance with specifications

· Utilize standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges, micrometers, and calipers.

· Ability to use CMM

· Ability to read/interpret customer prints, drawings, and specifications

· Process associated documentation including process tags, rework tags and nonconforming material documents

· Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques

· Set gages for operators

· Assist in preparation of quality sheets and CMM programs

· Other duties may be assigned as required.

Essential Functions:

basic knowledge in QS and ISO standards is recommended; CMM knowledge and one to three years of blueprint reading preferred. Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of standard mechanical and electrical instruments and functional gauges. Knowledge and understanding of GD&T. Knowledge and understanding of Industry Standards, (SAE ASME, ANSI, AMS, ASTM, FED-STD, MIL) is preferred. Experience in Microsoft programs is required.
